Lane Closures Next Week on I-95 at Broad Street Viaduct and Girard Point Bridge in Philadelphia

Lane closures are scheduled next week on Interstate 95 between the Broad Street Interchange and Girard Point Bridge in Philadelphia for bridge construction, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation today announced.

On Sunday (April 11) from 7 a.m. to noon, the southbound left lane will be closed on the I-95/Girard Point Bridge for the installation of painting platforms.

Southbound I-95 will be reduced from three lanes to two at the Broad Street Viaduct on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday (April 13, 14, 16) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the resurfacing of the southbound right lane.

The southbound deck of the I-95/Girard Point Bridge will be reduced from three lanes to two on Monday through Friday (April 12-16) from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for the resurfacing of the far right lane. The southbound lane closure will go into effect later than 9 p.m. on Wednesday and Friday nights. Daytime lane closures also may occur on the northbound and southbound decks on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday (April 12-16) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for resurfacing prep work and the installation of overhead painting platforms.

The schedules are dependent on the weather.

Vegetation Control Scheduled On I-95 Next Week

Lane restrictions are scheduled on Interstate 95 in Philadelphia, Bucks and Delaware Counties next week (April 13-14 and April 16) for a moving weed control operation.

The work schedule is:

• Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday (April 13-14, April 16) – A lane closure is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on northbound and southbound I-95 between Philadelphia and the Delaware state line in Upland, Eddystone, Ridley Park boroughs, Tinicum, Upper Chichester, Lower Chichester townships, and the City of Chester, Delaware County.

• Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday (April 13-14, April 16) – A lane closure is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on northbound and southbound I-95 between Bucks County and Delaware County lines in Philadelphia.

• Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday (April 13-14, April 16) – A lane closures is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on northbound and southbound I-95 between the New Jersey state line and Philadelphia in Bensalem, Bristol, Middletown, and Lower Makefield townships, Bucks County.

Lane Restriction Scheduled at the I-95/Academy Road Interchange for Repairs

Lane restrictions are scheduled on the Academy Road ramps to northbound and southbound Interstate 95 in Philadelphia on Monday through Friday (April 12-16) from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for milling and base repair.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through this area as back-ups may occur.
