Surveying activities will be underway in several areas near the I-95/Girard Avenue Interchange in Philadelphia for approximately two weeks beginning on Tuesday, February 9, 2010.
No traffic disruptions are expected, and all of the work will take place within right-of-way owned by the City of Philadelphia or the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
This field work is being done to plan routes where gas and water lines will be relocated when work begins next year on the second of six contracts to improve the interchange and reconstruct adjacent sections of I-95.
Surveyors, who will carry ID cards identifying them as members of PennDOT's surveying sub-contractor, will be active during normal business hour at the following locations:
- Lehigh Avenue - between Richmond Street and Thompson Street
- Thompson Street - between Lehigh Avenue and Seltzer Street
- Seltzer Street - between Thompson Street and Edgemont Street
- Edgemont Street - between Seltzer Street and Ann Street
- Ann Street - between Edgemont Street and Richmond Street
The duration of the surveying work will depend on weather conditions.
