PennDOT is working on a long-term, multi-phase infrastructure initiative to improve and rebuild I-95 in Pennsylvania. Read more
Between Academy Road and Interstate 676 in Philadelphia, you'll find construction zones at the Girard Avenue (Exit 23) and Cottman Avenue (Exit 30) interchanges. Go here for current construction photos. Engineering is also currently under way on three additional I-95 projects -- sections AFC, BRI and BSR -- to rebuild I-95 between the Girard and Cottman interchanges.
In addition to rebuilding the interstate, its bridges and interchanges, the I-95 projects will improve traffic flow by adding new ramps and creating a four-lane highway in both directions to provide continuous lanes connecting the on-off ramps. Click CPR and GIR buttons for details-------->
Please allow extra time for travel through the work areas.
