6/29/2009 Surveying at Betsy Ross Ramps

Surveying Underway on Ramps at the I-95/Betsy Ross Bridge Interchange

Surveying crews will be active along the elevated ramps to Aramingo Avenue from southbound and northbound I-95 as well as from Aramingo Avenue to I-95 north and south beginnning Monday, June 29, 2009.

The surveying activity, which is expected to be completed by the end of July,  is being done as part of the Preliminary Engineering phase of the project to reconstruct the interchange and the adjacent segment of I-95 (I-95/BRI).

Surveying contractors will be working from the ramp shoulders weekdays from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.  Traffic control measures may be in place on the ramp shoulders and on short sections of the ramps. No closures or detours are expected with this work.

All of the activities will take place within the public rights-of-way or at locations on private property where property owners have been notified in advance by PennDOT Intent to Enter letters that were mailed to affected owners.

Minor traffic disruptions may occur during these operations, which are expected to conclude in August.

Data from the surveys will be used in the design of roadway, structure and ramp improvements at the interchange.
