About PennDOT

PennDOT's District 6 is one of 11 regional Engineering Districts of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. State Transportation Secretary Allen D. Biehler, P.E., heads the agency under the administration of Gov. Edward G. Rendell.

District 6 serves more than three million customers in the Greater Philadelphia Region that includes Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties and the City of Philadelphia. Our professional, administrative, clerical and maintenance personnel provide engineering, maintenance, construction, traffic and related services for a state transportation system of 4,000 roadway miles and 3,050 bridges in the region.

PennDOT's Central Office in the state capital of Harrisburg provides transportation, motor vehicle and driver licensing services, as well as administrative, technical and professional support for all 11 Engineering Districts and Pennsylvania's ports, airports, railroads and locally-owned roadways.
